Sony ends Playstation 2 shipments to Japan

By  |

It has been almost 13 years since the Playstation 2 launched a new era in console gaming, which spawned various new genres and franchises–but, sadly, Sony has stopped shipments of the famed console to its home country of Japan. According to Famitsu, Sony has sold over 150 million units of the console since its inception on March 4th, 2000, which ranks it in as the best-selling console of all time. Gamers hope to see a fourth-generation Playstation unveiled in the coming year. Nintendo has already released their console’s successor, we all know Microsoft is working on one, so where is Sony’s. Lets hope they don’t file for Chapter 11 before the PS4 is released.
