This is the most pirated film of 2012

By  |

2012 seemed to be the year of the hero with major releases such as The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, even Hunger Games, but none of those titles hit the top spot for most pirated film of 2012. No, that honor goes to another film that has absolutely nothing to do with heroes or anything of substance, for that matter. It is one that went relatively unnoticed and forgotten, until now, and that film is–Project X.

Yep, of all movies, Project X, was the most pirated film of the year. Downloaded 8.72 million times, the Nima Nourizadeh directed film only made $101 million at the worldwide box office, according to TorrentFreak. No one has any idea why this was the most downloaded film. But if you’re curious as to what movies Project X actually beat, then check out the full list below.
