Colton Haynes joins ‘Arrow’ full-time as Roy Harper

Dodger

Good news Arrow fans! Teen Wolf alum Colton Haynes has been cast on the CW comic-show, Arrow, based off the DC Comics character, Green Arrow, previously played by Justin Hartley on the network’s hit-show, Smallville. Haynes first appeared in a guest role on the show’s Dodger episode as red jacket-wearing criminal from the Glades, Roy Harper.

His character’s entrance was most interesting; pickpocketing Thea Queen, the sister of Stephen Amell‘s Oliver Queen, and eventually got caught. But he made up some sob story and tricked her into dropping the charges; but that doesn’t matter, what matters is that now those two have met, one of them will at some point become Oliver’s sidekick, Speedy. Since Thea has been nicknamed Speedy by Oliver, that indicates that she will become the crime-fighting sidekick, but Haynes as Roy Harper–the name of Speedy in the comics–could become the sidekick using the moniker Red Arrow, due to his love for his red jacket. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Haynes will continue to star for the rest of Arrow‘s season one–which returns next Wednesday, March 20th only on the CW–and be a series regular in the second season, which debuts in Fall 2013.
