Rumor: CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 Will Show S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Triskelion HQ; Connects AVENGERS & ANT-MAN
Everyday we’re getting more rumors and news surrounding Marvel’s Phase 2 & 3 movies, and today is no different. The rumor going around today is that in Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Triskelion headquarters will be showcased, even used. According to the DailySuperhero, the Fairview Birdge in Cleveland was used as the bridge to the island headquarters for secret government organization. It actually makes sense that the studio would pick this movie to unveil the famed HQ, since it features the most S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, including Robert Redford’s Alexander Pierce.
If this is all true then there will surely be several cameos, easter eggs, and even more spin-offs; which is probably why Marvel has dated three more movies for Phase 3 …hmmm. And here’s another interesting tidbit: the Triskelion was used by the Ultimates at one point in time, but several of them were defeated during an massive attack on the HQ by the Liberators. The Scarlet Witch had protected part of the building during the attack, but still, she couldn’t save them all. Then during the Ultimatum, Hank Pym (Ant-man) sacrificed himself so he could save others. These little stories are enough for Marvel to connect several of their movies, but they’ll probably change most of this up so it can apply to a larger audience.
“‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ will pick-up where ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.”
Captain America 2: The Winter Solider is being directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Toby Jones, Alan Dale, Chin Han, Jenny Agutter, Bernard White, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Maximiliano Hernández, Hayley Atwell, Scarlett Johansson with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford. It releases in theaters on April 4, 2014.
